WANTAGE Town missed the chance to climb into the top five as they went down 2-0 at Coleshill Town last night.
After a goalless first half, Josh Willis opened the scoring within two minutes of the restart in the Southern League Division One Central clash.
James Harrison doubled Coleshill’s lead on 79 minutes to seal the points.
Didcot Town, who missed out on the chance to improve their position when Saturday’s game at Barton Rovers was washed out, will hope for better conditions when they head to mid-table Daventry Town on Wednesday.
But North Leigh’s game against Kempston Rovers tonight and Kidlington’s meeting with Aylesbury United tomorrow are now off.
With lockdown due to come into force on Thursday, the league gave clubs the option not to play and that right has been exercised.
Thame United were due to be hosting high-flying Berkamsted, but the game has also been postponed.
Their opponents’ rescheduled Buildbase FA Trophy tie takes priority.
- North Leigh and Thame United received home ties in the draw for the FA Trophy first round proper.
Southern League Division One South side Frome Town will visit the Millers, while Thame entertain Bognor Regis Town, of the Isthmian Premier Division.
The ties were due to be played on Saturday, November 14.
But in publishing the draw, the FA simply said the fixtures would be announced in due course, as they negotiate with the government over what the lockdown rules mean for ‘non-elite’ sport.
