Banbury earned a vital South League Premier Division 2 point with a 1-1 draw at fifth-placed Tulse Hill, after captain Matthew Bull grabbed a late equaliser.
The result keeps them top going into the last game before the Christmas break away at Eastcote.
Banbury forced numerous short corners, but some poor finishing and some excellent goalkeeping thwarted them and from their only short corner of the half, Tulse Hill took the lead.
After another two short corners had gone begging, Bull found the back of the net and Banbury felt they should then have been awarded a penalty stroke when Dave Clark was fouled when about to push the ball into the back of the net.
