Fieldside closed to within a point of top spot in Division 1 of the Oxford & District League after a 2-1 win at Riley.
Riley's Allan Copelin (+90) beat Norman Woodcock (+70) 150-122, but Fieldside hit back through Simon Aries (-50) and Bob Chivers (-30).
Aries compiled breaks of 36 and 37 in defeating Malcolm Bough (+70) 200-129, while Chivers' 39-break helped him pip Gary Bough (+70) 200-192.
Oracle also lost the first match were at home to Cowley Conservative Club B when Ken Olive (+60) surprised Pete Machonochie (+60) 150-106.
But Oracle's Gordon Cook (+100) defeated Brian Mabbutt (+20) 200-131 and then Richard Connerty (+50) beat John Simpson (+30) 200-137.
Tom Fletcher (+70) led the way in Thame's 2-1 home victory against CCC A.
After a losing streak of five successive games, Tom found his winning form and surprised Keith Pearce (+60) 150-126, helped by a useful 29 break.
John Williams (+70) sealed Headington Conservative Club A's 2-1 win at home to Morris Motors after a ding-dong battle with Bob Hayward (+70).
