With the Cherwell bank-high the Oxford Bus AC decided to travel over to Glebe Lake, although at the start of the match, the four anglers should have stayed at home as nothing was moving.

Suddenly, the fish at Glebe decided to wake up and have some brunch.

Fishing the pole with pellet in the margins, Dougie Robinson was the clear winner with 37.6.0 of carp.

Anthony Tompkins used the same method as Robinson and landed 14.0.0 of carp for second place and Terry Yates took third place with 5.7.0.

Yates also fished down the edge and alternated between maggot and pellet.

Culham Cut was the venue for Abingdon Town's Winter Cup match.

In second place with 6.2.0 was Steve Wheatley, catching a chub of 4lb plus some perch.

Also on the bloodworm was Alan Bateman, who caught gudgeon and small perch for a third place 2.8.0.

Out of the 23 anglers who fished Kinloch's P Woodley Winter League at Ridgeway only six caught.

The carp just did not want to know.
