OXFORD United could alter their transfer plans if Josh Ruffels is ruled out for a long spell.
The 26-year-old was forced off in the 2-0 defeat at Lincoln City after falling awkwardly on his left shoulder.
Ruffels only failed to complete 90 minutes once in Sky Bet League One last season, but after initially trying to play on following treatment, within seconds he signalled to the bench it was not right.

A reserve left back has been on head coach Karl Robinson's wish-list all summer.
United appeared happy to bide their time with the transfer window not closing until next month, potentially with a view to bringing a young player in on loan to fill the role.
But Robinson, who should know more on Ruffels's situation tomorrow, admitted their plan could change.
"It certainly does if it’s not good," he said.
"It’s across the top of his shoulder and we’ll have to wait and see how bad that is."
United have already lost Alex Gorrin for up to a month after the midfielder picked up an ankle injury last weekend.
