The future of the sport at Oxford remains up in the air.
The stumbling block for next season remains the lease, with still no agreement between Oxford Cheetahs promoter Allen Trump and stadium landlords, the Greyhound Racing Association (GRA).
The GRA want to double the rent for speedway.
Trump said: "I remain hopeful that a deal can be reached."
The British Speedway Promoters' Association's annual meeting got under way yesterday and continues until Sunday.
With each passing day, the chances of Oxford being elevated into the Premier League diminishes.
There would then be severe doubts whether speedway at Cowley could be sustained at just Conference League level.
