A club who play in the Oxford Mail Boys League will find out tonight whether they are to be thrown out of the league.

Oxford African Refugees Family Development Committee, known as OARDFC, have been accused of several breaches of rules and suspended from the league since the allegations came to light.

And as a result, the league are inviting all member clubs to attend tonight's meeting at Oxford University Press FC, Jordan Hill, starting at 7.30pm.

In the minutes of their latest meeting, the Oxford Mail Boys League committe accuse OARDFC of breaking four league rules: - consistently turning up late for kick-off for both home and away games.

- presenting falsified photocopies of birth certificates for two players which the committee believe was deliberate.

- deliberately playing a player in their U13 team who was registered to play for an U15 team. Also playing other overage players.

- having one mini-soccer goal for home games and using cones for the other goal.

However, George Espoir, the secretary and spokesman for OARDFC, says that although there have been occasions when a side has turned up late, his club do not deserve to be thrown out of the league.

And he firmly denies the fourth charge, calling the accusations 'a lie'.

"We have made mistakes, but we do not deserve to be thrown out of the league," he said.

"We have had some teams mis-managed, but at the end of the day the boys just want to play football.

"These boys would not play for any other team, and because there were so many keen footballers around the Cowley area, I decided to start up the club.

"But I know that if we were stopped playing football, they would just stop it completely.

"When teams play us, they always ask to check our match cards and that has made us late for a few kick-offs - and then the teams complain about us. That's not right.

"And whoever reported us for not having two goals was lying - I mean, how can you play a football match with just one set?

"There have been wrong-doings from teams we have played against, but I don't complain about it because all everyone wants to do is play football."

A spokesperson from the league said: "We have had problems with OARDFC, and a number of complaints.

"As a result, we are asking the other clubs to give their view.

"However, we cannot say any more until the situation has been clarified."
