Oxford United have appealed against midfielder Carl Pettefer's red card at Kidderminster.
United secretary Mick Brown confirmed last night that the appeal had been submitted, along with the £300 payment required to lodge an appeal with the Football Association.
"We felt we had good grounds to appeal," he said. "Now it's down to the FA. The video pictures are from the other side of the ground, so we'll have to see."
Pettefer (pictured), who spent two years at Southend, is desperate for the red card to be overturned so he can face the Shrimpers in the FA Cup on Saturday.
Boss Darren Patterson will have only one of his two loan strikers - who both found the net in the 2-0 victory at Aggborough - available this weekend.
"At this moment Matt Green is eligible for the FA Cup, Ashley Barnes isn't," Patterson declared.
