Oxford Harlequins director of rugby Matt Maudsley admitted he had been taken aback by his side's performance.
He said: "I wasn't expecting as good as that. It was a convincing victory.
"We are capable of playing like that. We just need to do it consistently.
"We beat them in areas they are usually good at such as the maul and the scrum.
"We put them in positions where they weren't able to play well.
"We were really motivated from the outset.
"At the breakdowns I said if there is anybody within three or four metres of the ball, just clear them out of the way, and that's what they did.
"I've always thought we were capable of beating all the teams in this league.
"We dominated all departments of the game against Chinnor, who are, without doubt a top-of-the-table side.
"We need to approach all games in that same way."
Chinnor coach Jason Bowers said: "Quins played really well. Their pack were very competitive and we knew their backs were very dangerous before we started.
"Their No 7 (Chris Alcock) was outstanding.
"We have not played as badly as that all season. We've now got to reflect on the game and move on.
"There were some areas we did well, but many where we didn't.
"It would have been wonderful to go throughout the league unbeaten, but that hasn't happened.
"It is not nice to lose a derby, but we have only lost one match and won nine in the league.
"They certainly deserved to win the match."
