Wallingford ground out a dogged 12-12 draw at Milton Keynes to keep them in the hunt for promotion from Southern Counties North.

The visitors dominated the early exchanges and went ahead with a penalty from fly half Pete Strang.

Wallingford had to absorb plenty of pressure before Milton Keynes scored a try wide out.

Just before half-time, the hosts' ill-discipline showed again when they conceded another penalty, which Strang slotted.

Skipper Kris Blaszko then went close and Wallingford were 9-5 up following Strang's third penalty.

The tripping offence saw a Milton Keynes player yellow-carded, but their defence held out well.

Strang's fourth penalty came with the hosts still down to 14 men.

Milton Keynes bundled their way over for a converted try and missed a kickable penalty to seal the game.

Witney lost 16-15 at Amersham & Chiltern, granting the hosts their first win of the campaign.

It was a case of too little, too late as Witney were 16-0 down in as many minutes.

Amersham led thanks to a converted try and three penalties.

Witney gained a lifelife with a try on the stroke of half-time from Tim Muller after good work from James Monks and Johnny Wheater.

The visitors scored again after the break when Gareth Campbell and Charlie Quarterman set up a try for James Ellwood.

Amersham kept fighting, but crucially lost a second front-rower, prompting uncontested scrums and halting Witney's momentum.

Carl Campbell wasted a good chance before James Monks shrugged off tackles to score out wide.

Crucially the conversion was again missed and Amersham withstood a late barrage and some poor decision making from Witney.
