Striker Rob Duffy (pictured) will not be fined by the club for being sent off against Ebbsfleet.
Duffy was controversially dismissed for violent conduct after allegedly flicking out a boot at Mark Ricketts just 20 seconds into his comeback from injury.
However, U's boss Darren Patterson said that Duffy would not be hit in the pocket.
"I have seen the video and it looked very, very harsh," he said. I won't be fining the lad.
"We can't appeal against it because of the time-frame. I think the ref felt under pressure, because of what happened earlier with Barry Quinn, now that was a stone-wall sending off.
"I think he did it to even things up. I thought their player made a meal of it."
