Experienced midfielder Mark Jones is set to return from injury as Oxford City look to take over at the top of Division 1 South & West at Burnham on Saturday.

The former Thame player has not played since suffering a hamstring tear in their derby game at Didcot on October 27, but is raring to go.

With leaders Bridgwater without a game, victory in Bucks will see City enjoy their highest position for several years.

But player-boss Justin Merritt, whose side have scored ten goals in their last two games, is not getting carried away.

"People get excited when you get a few wins," he said.

"But we've got to more analytical.

"There is always something you can improve on.

"I'm pleased, but to be honest I'm just looking at the next game.

"It's where you are in April that counts."

Merritt said added: "We're the league's highest scorers, but we have three or four players that have six goals which is fantastic.

"It means that we're not heaping the pressure on one player to get the goals.

"Mark Bell, who has been playing in place of Mark Jones, has scored five goals in his last three games which is excellent. He's only 18.

"With Jones coming back we may give Mark a bit of a rest."

Jermaine McSporran is also set to return.

Didcot Town could be without Josh Mulvany for their home game against Slough Town.

The former Oxford United youngster is struggling with an ankle injury.

Matt Bicknell should shake off a foot injury.

Didcot have beaten Slough twice already this season - 5-1 in the Berks & Bucks Cup and 6-3 away in the league - but boss Stuart Peace is cautious.

"We have to make sure we are not complacent."

Abingdon United look like being without Jamie Brooks for the next couple of weeks.

The ex-U's winger is sidelined with a hamstring injury.

Banbury United will be looking to build on Tuesday's 2-0 win Errea Cup victory over Brackley Town when they host Bromsgrove Rovers at Spencer Stadium in the Premier Division.

Nicky Gordon came through the midweek victory unscathed after injury, and should feature again, but Ben Milner is suspended.
