Colts and Co lead Division 1 of the Oxfordshire Five Disciplines League after three rounds - thanks to a leading English player.

Hosting the latest series of matches at their new headquarters in Headington, Colts surprised their opponents by fielding Rebecca Panteney, the England No 5, in their line-up.

Panteney lives in Gloucestershire, but has registered for Colts in this league.

As a result, Colts thrashed Headington A 228-188 in spite of the losers' dominance in the men's contests.

Dave Soanes won his singles and partnered Graham Speight in their successful men's doubles.

Division 2 leaders Radley and Oxford subdued North Abingdon 219-181.

Second-placed Abingdon B sent Evenlode packing 236-196.
