Two promising juniors have been selected to train with the South East England Birdie Squad, which develops talented players.
Abbi Laker, 13, from Chipping Norton and 14-year-old Studley Wood member Gemma Clements have been recognised by the English Ladies' Golf Association after starring in 2007.
Both began the year with handicaps of 18, but Laker now plays off 11 and Clements off 12.
Laker recently won the Boddington Trophy as Oxon's most improved junior, just pipping Clements.
THE Wychwood will announce their player of the year at their presentation evening on Friday.
Captains Jim Pertwee and Beryl Garland will be handing out the prizes, while the most improved player of the year will also be announced.
