Banbury United saw off local rivals Brackley at Spencer Stadium to book their place in the fourth round of the Errea Cup on Tuesday with a 2-0 victory.
They went ahead after only two minutes when Ollie Stanbridge netted via a post and they kept the visitors at bay up to the break.
Nicky Gordon, a new signing from Woodford, set up Banbury's second after 51 minutes, crossing for Lewis Travers to score.
Brackley's best effort came from Dave Savage, whose 25-yard free-kick was well saved by Andy Wheeler.
