Henley Hawks are closer to relegation than promotion after a 19-3 defeat at Blackheath inb National 2.
Their fifth defeat of the season sees them seven points off the drop zone and 16 below second spot.
Hawks began full of attacking intent with No 8 Dave Archer, lock Rob Hurrell and scrum half James Gaunt all prominent.
They took the lead when wing Danny Wells slotted a 13th-minute penalty.
Matt Leek levelled with a penalty for Blackheath, who are coached by former Hawk Harvey Biljeon, after a high tackle by Hawks hooker Dinos Alexopolous.
Henley prop Andy Le Chevalier was sin-binned for bringing down a maul on 28 minutes and another such offence saw Blackheath awarded a penalty try, which Leek converted.
Scrum half Joe Simpson's interception denied Hawks a try late in the first half, while another Leek penalty put them further behind after the break.
Hawks duo Stean Williams and Mark Meenan were yellow-carded before Leek kicked a third penalty.
Full back Nathan Lambden's determined run was Hawks' last chance, while Leek's fourth penalty wrapped up the points.
