OXFORD United’s academy fixtures have been scrapped by the EFL.
The decision has been made to give staff and players clarity, but has no bearing on how discussions are going about resuming first-team football.
A formula for deciding the final league positions is yet to be announced, while next season’s games will not start earlier than expected.
Dan Harris, head of United’s academy, told the club’s website: “The announcement wasn’t unexpected and we fully support and understand the reasons they have made the decision.
“It now gives us an opportunity as a club to start building towards next season and allows us to explore a number of ways that we can make sure our players’ wellbeing and development are taken care of over the next few months.”
