Bradley Smith capped a sensational year by landing the Sportsman of the Year award.
The 16-year-old, from Forest Hill, has just finished his second season with the Repsol Honda team in the 125cc Moto GP.
And having just signed a new deal to ride for the Polaris World Aprilia team next season, having had two top-ten finishes with his former team, the youngster has had a year to remember.
"I am thrilled to collect this award," Smith said.
"I've had a great season and am delighted to cap it off with this.
"There are so many other talented people in this room it is an honour."
Smith picked up the award just hours after finishing a GCSE exam.
"I've come back home after the last race and had four exams in a week," he added.
"I get the results in January, but I'm pleased to have got them all out the way."
More than 250 people attended the awards, held at the Kassam Stadium.
And they saw an emotional Nichola Simpson land the Sportswoman of the Year prize.
The international archer, who plans to take six months off her job to concentrate on the 2010 Commonwealth Games in New Delhi, was almost speechless when picking up her prize.
"It's just great," she said. "I can't believe I've won it, I'm not sure I deserve it."
The Junior team of the Year award went to the Oxford School of Gymnastics Acrobatic trio of Joanne White, Amber Ballantyne-Styles and Abigail Collins.
The girls won the European Championship silver medal last month and produced a demonstration in front of the packed crowd to show why they deserved the award.
The Oxfordshire Sports Awards' most innovative category, Extreme Sportsperson of the Year, went to Ben Ayre, a 14-year-old mountain boarder.
