Oxford United defender Matt Day (pictured being treated by England medical staff) didn't feature for England C in their 2-0 win over Finland C in Helsinki on Wednesday night after suffering up a leg injury in training.
Day collected the injury on the unfamiliar plastic pitch at the Finnair Stadium as the squad prepared for the game.
Cambridge United's Michael Morrison and Salisbury City's Matt Tubbs scored a goal in each half as Paul Fairclough's team made a successful start to their defence of the International Challenge Trophy.
"I would have accepted a draw here," Fairclough said. "To get the victory is sensational, particularly when you consider that most of my lads would never have seen such difficult conditions."
The result made it five straight wins without conceding a goal for England C, which is made up of under-23 players from non-league football.
Oxford United have missed out on being selected for live TV coverage in the next round of the FA Cup.
BBC have decided to show Harrogate Railway v Mansfield on Sunday December 2, while Sky have gone for Horsham v Swansea City, which will be screened on Friday, November 30.
All sides selected for live TV coverage in the second round will receive £75,000 from the FA.
Oxford's second-round tie against League One Southend United, which is on Saturday, December 1, marks a first - the clubs have never before met in the FA Cup.
