Banbury Bulls coach Grant Holmes says they must show commitment throughout the week if they are to avoid relegation.
Bulls' 19-12 home loss to Litchfield was their eighth in nine Midlands 2 East matches, leaving them second from bottom.
Holmes was pleased with his players' effort on the day, but said this would not be enough to save them.
"Our step up in performance on Saturday's comes down to application and actually wanting it more than anything," said Holmes.
"However the same can not be said for everyone when it comes to training nights.
"Last Tuesday for one reason or another we had our smallest turnout at training by a long way.
"Only 16 turned out and by the time we had finished we were down to a less than impressive 11.
"On the training field is where we will find that little bit extra that is missing from our game."
