Oxford City Stars ran riot as they crushed an indisciplined Telford Tigers 12-2 on Sunday.
Stars were thin on the ground as they missed Darren Elliott, Alan Green, Will Skaife and Ady Haigh.
But despite being under-strength, they still had far too much for struggling Telford, whose captain Mike Roden was escorted from the ice for continued dissent to the referee.
Oxford went in front after only 36 seconds as Lee Featherstone provided a great pass to Dean Francis, who took the puck past two defenders, and then shot into the top right corner.
It was the perfect start, and within two minutes, Stars had doubled their lead.
Man-of-the-match Sam Broughton hit a low shot past Joshua Nicholls to make it 2-0.
Stars' stand-in captain Dave Carr was handed a two-minute penalty, and at the same time, Featherstone got two minutes in the sin bin for hooking, while Telford's Garth Ellis was also penalised.
While Oxford were a player short, Tigers reduced the arrears as Kevin Parton scored a powerplay goal.
But Oxford soon restored their two-goal lead when great play from Nick Oliver and Mark Crater set up the returning Featherstone.
Telford's discipline then completely deserted them, as captain Mike Roden was handed a two-minute penalty for interference, extended to ten minutes for dissent to the referee.
Bates was handed a two-minute penalty for a back check, followed by ten minutes for dissent.
While captain Roden was still in the sin-bin, he had another go at the referee, and was handed another 20-minute penalty.
He continued his protests, and was given another 25 minutes, and had to be escorted from the ice by the linesman.
The powerplay saw Oxford stretch their lead when Mark Krater set up Francis to make it 4-1.
Indisciplined Telford were then penalised again when Karl Creamer back checked a Stars' player, and further dissent to the referee meant yet another ten minute penalty.
In the second period, Francis completed his hat-trick after 15 seconds, then Joe Oliver made it 6-1.
Carr's slap-shot rocketed past the Telford netminder for No 7 and Patrick Knightley set up Kent Johnson to make it 8-1.
Johnson then scored an unassisted goal for the ninth.
Telford's ill-discipline returned, and Matt Allen was sent off for high sticks. That resulted in a cut lip and broken tooth for Carr, which required medical assistance.
In the third period, Telford got yet another penalty for hooking, and again this was increased due to dissent - this time Jim Corfield was the guilty party.
Oxford scored their tenth goal in the 48th minute, Jacob Smith flicking the puck home.
It was soon 12-1, Featherstone scoring an unassisted goal after another penalty, this time against Telford's Daniel Taylor for hooking.
Telford managed to get on the scoresheet six minutes from time, Simon Harrison firing home.
