MARK Sykes's performance in the Emirates FA Cup against Newcastle United helped seal his latest call-up to the Northern Ireland squad.
The Oxford United attacker is uncapped at senior international level, but has been included in his third squad.
Sykes has made steady progress throughout the campaign, making 36 appearances.
But it was his display in the fourth-round replay which really caught the eye.
Although United eventually went out 3-2 after extra time, Steve Harper - who is on the coaching staff with Newcastle and Northern Ireland - was impressed.

After announcing his squad for the Euro 2020 play-off semi-final with Bosnia & Herzegovina, boss Michael O'Neill said of Sykes: "He's a young player we have had around the squad.
"He's still finding his feet in English football after his move from Glenavon, but I think he's made a big impression.
"I think it was difficult for him to settle last year, it took him a bit of time to get in the team, but certainly since the start of the season he's been excellent at Oxford.
"We have had a lot of good reports on him and I know he played particularly well against Newcastle in the Cup.
"Steve Harper is part of their staff and alluded to that.
"He's a young player that's progressing."
