JUST a handful of games beat the weather in the Witney & District FA, but Spartan Rangers A ran riot with a 9-2 victory over Sherborne Harriers in Division 4.
James Macke hit a hat-trick for Spartan, with further goals from Ben Allan (2), Matt Foley, Ethan Barrett, Dan Jeffrey and Telmo Fernandes.
In Division 1, goals from Luke Rippington and Ryan Harris helped Witney Royals to a 2-1 win over Middle Barton, who replied through veteran John Umney.
The only other game to survive the rain was at Chipping Norton Town, who ran out 4-2 victors over Kingham All Blacks in the Supplementary Cup second round second leg.
The victory wrapped up a 5-4 win on aggregate, after Kingham’s 2-1 success in the first leg one week earlier.
Chippy produced an excellent display to book their place in the next round, Jack Knight leading the way with a brace, while Michael Roberts and Matt Smith were also on target.
Kingham hit back through a Liam Barnes double, but the home side held on to reach the next round.
