HOOK Norton Harriers were undeterred by Storm Dennis as they turned out in force for race five of the Tempo Winter Series.
On a weekend when multiple events were cancelled, the club sent a host of dedicated souls to the wet and windy 10km course in Warwickshire.
Paul Taylor was 32nd and the sixth V45, finishing in 45mins 13secs, while teammate Helen Sharman was the sixth-fastest female in 43rd, clocking 46.25.
Elsewhere, Duncan Talbot retained his V65 60m hurdles and high jump titles at the Southern Counties Veterans Athletics Championships in London.
The Abingdon AC member clocked 12.45secs in the hurdles, while his jump of 1.40metres was a Championship personal best.
Meanwhile, Bicester Triathlon Club’s David Dicker was the tenth V60 in 1.06.25 at the Milton Keynes Winter Warmer 10k.
Clubmate Max Follner achieved a personal best 43.23 at the Castle Coombe Chilly 10k.
