p>Abingdon United let slip a two-goal lead as they were held to a 2-2 draw by Godalming Town in Division 1 South & West at Northcourt Road.

Aneke Emeka turned away a fine drive from Josias Carbon in the 12th minute, but a minute later United were ahead.

A deep free-kick from the right was met by Micheas Herbert and his powerful header was palmed over by Emeka. Nathan Woodley stooped to head the near post corner across the six-yard box, and Herbert swept the ball into the net.

Five minutes later, Abingdon were 2-0 up when Anaclet Odhiambo got in between the defenders, and despite the keeper being all over him he shielded it and took it away from goal.

He turned two defenders and pulled the ball back inside the area to set up Ryan Curtin.

His fierce strike was blocked by the keeper, but rolled to Carbon who made no mistake from close in.

But just after the half-hour mark, Godalming pulled a goal back against the run of play. A free-kick was only half cleared, and when it was returned into the Abingdon area, Yousef Metwali lifted it over Simon Tricker.

Herbert was then unlucky to see his drive whizz wide of the far post.

Godalming started the second half the stronger, and wasted a good chance on the hour.

When Abingdon finally got into the stride again, Woodley forced Emeka to tip the ball over.

However, the visitors struck next when Christian Webb ran on to a chip from the right to shoot past Simon Tricker in the 80th minute.

Tricker was then forced to beat away a shot as Godalming threatened to snatch all three points, before Odhiambo had a strong penalty appeal turned down.
