SHANDON Baptiste and Tariqe Fosu have completed their moves from Oxford United to Brentford.

Head coach Karl Robinson revealed last night separate offers had been accepted for the pair.

After completing their medicals today, the paperwork on the deals has now been finalised.

The fees are officially undisclosed.

A combined figure of £3million has been reported, but it is thought the value of additional clauses would take United’s income well above that.

U's boss Karl Robinson told the club's website: "As a football club we are immensely proud to see two young men grow not just into very talented footballers but also into good people - very gracious and very humble as well as hard-working.

“I have known Tariqe a long time now, while Shandon has been here longer and was actually out on loan in non-league when I arrived.

"Both of them have unbelievable ability and have hopefully enjoyed their football just as much as we have enjoyed working with them.

“They leave on good terms and I think it says a lot about this football club that they both want to come along to watch us tomorrow against Blackpool.

"Everything has been done the right way and we look forward to seeing their careers continue to develop.”

Baptiste, 21, joined United’s youth system in 2015.

Despite suffering two shoulder dislocations as a scholar, he showed enough to earn a short-term contract.

The midfielder went on to make his debut under Pep Clotet in the Checkatrade Trophy at Stevenage and signed a new longer-term deal.

A loan move to Hampton & Richmond Borough followed, but Baptiste's big leap forward came in summer 2018.

In a poor start to the campaign Baptiste was a shining light. A spectacular first goal against Newport County was followed by a superb display on the big stage at Sunderland.

He then captained United in the Carabao Cup against Manchester City, but his rapid progress was stalled by injuries.

First, a recurrence of his dislocated shoulder and then, six minutes into his comeback, a freak collision left his with ruptured knee ligaments.

It came in the FA Cup against Brentford, who were interested in making an offer in the January window.

Baptiste spent seven months recovering, but has since regained his form.

Fosu, 24, only joined last summer after a frustrating season at Charlton Athletic.

He had played his best football at the Valley under Karl Robinson, which proved a powerful reason to join United.

Fosu settled quickly, scoring at Sunderland on the opening day of the season.

It was part of a dazzling start to life in yellow, which brought eight goals by the end of October - including a stunning hat-trick in the 6-0 demolition of Lincoln City.

Just two goals have followed since, with opposition sides often doubling up on Fosu, who also admitted to feeling the strain of United's schedule.
