A first-half double from Gary Wickens gave Witney victory in the Hellenic Premier Division on Saturday.

Wickens fired the home team in front five minutes later when Luke Brandon's cross was forced home by the Witney front man.

John McMahon forced another good save from Morse, then Wickens beat Terry Bohane, before crossing to Harry Burnley, who volleyed over.

Witney doubled their lead on 32 minutes when Steedman's free-kick was flicked on by Burnley, and Wickens rounded Morse to slot home.

The second half saw Shrivenham come more into the game, although Witney as Wickens's 30-yard effort was tipped over by Morse.

North Leigh 2 (Burnell 40, Clarke og 73)

A goal in each half secured a fifth win in six games as North Leigh overcame lowly Fairford at Eynsham Park.

Joe Burnell fired North Leigh in front just before the break as he lashed home a terrific strike.

After the break, Phil Corcoran, Andy McCabe and Burnell all went close to scoring, but the points were secured when McCabe's cross was turned into his own net by Lee Clarke.

Hook Norton 3 (Northover 34, Harris 47, Breslin 70)

Abingdon Tn 3 (Simms 15, 35, Bloomfield 45)

Abingdon Town had to settle for a point at Hook Norton, despite leading 3-1 at the break.

Mark Simms fired them in front, blasting home a free-kick, but Hooky equalised two minutes later when Richard Northover's header beat Gareth Walker.

Abingdon were immediately back in front as Morgan's free-kick was headed home by Simms, and the lead was increase on the stroke of half-time as Carl Bloomfield placed a smart shot past Meadows.

Two minutes after the break, Hooky reduced the arrears when Lee Harris headed past Walker, and Abingdon seemed to lose their way.

The home side were level on 70 minutes when a cross from the left found Ryan Breslin, who made no mistake.

Highworth Tn 3 (Coles 42, Keyes 45 pen, 90)

Ardley Utd 3 (Prescott 14, 53, Beckett 23)

Ardley were denied victory with the final kick of the game.

The visitors went in front in the 14th minute when Leon Gordon's cross picked out Andy Prescott, who lobbed the keeper.

Adam Beckett doubled the lead, curling home a shot inside the near post.

Highworth got back into the game before the break through Kevin Coles and a Lee Keyes penalty.

Ardley were back in front eight minutes after the break as Prescott unleashed a 30-yard effort that crashed in off the bar.

Gordon was red-carded for foul and abusive language, and although Ardley dug in, Keyes levelled from three yards deep into stoppage time.

Carterton 1 (Williams 43)

AFC Wallingford 0

Carterton battled to a slender victory at Kilkenny Lane.

The only goal came from Luke Williams just before half-time.
