ROISIN Browne recorded back-to-back victories after a gutsy display in the second round at Cirencester Park.
The Cherwell Runners member crossed the line in 29mins 30 seconds to maintain her position at the top of the standings.
She was made to work hard, however, with White Horse Harrier Sophie Lloyd just six seconds behind.
The duo had been locked in an epic battle for the lead throughout the race, which took place in extremely testing conditions.
Browne finished 21 seconds ahead of Lloyd at Bicester last month, but this time the winning deficit was much reduced.
Oxford Tri Club’s Rebecca Duxbury again filled third place.
Radley’s Emma Huepfl was the first Vet 45, while White Horse Harrier Lucy Rycroft won the under 20 race.
In the men’s event, Jack Shayler produced a superb performance to finish second overall in 34.22.
The Abingdon AC member was 21 seconds behind race winner Ben Cole, of Swindon Harriers, who was recording back-to-back wins.
Witney’s Teg Jones was fourth, but landed the Vet 40 spoils.
Heath Bampton, from Oxford City, was the first Vet 50 athlete home in 37.54.
In the junior section, Banbury’s Skip Snelson claimed the boys’ under 15/17 race, seeing off the Radley pair of Johnny James and William D’Arcy.
Oxford City’s Julian Laird landed the under 13 category, while Radley’s Rory Wilson beat clubmate Jonas Tipping in the under 11 event.
Abingdon’s Isabelle Martin won the under 13 girls’ race, with Radley’s Cecilia Huepfl triumphing in the under 11 section.
Radley bagged a one-two in the under 9 category, Jago Behagg finishing ahead of Haydn Williams.
