KARL Robinson’s new three-year contract at Oxford United has officially been completed.

The head coach, whose initial deal expired next summer, revealed last month he had agreed new terms which run to 2022.

It still needed formally ratifying, but all the loose ends are now resolved.

He said: “First of all I’d like to thank the people of Oxford United.

“This is the happiest I’ve been at home in relation to being around the family more often than before.

“Even though I’m at games all the time I’m sleeping in my own bed and that means more to me than anything in the world.

“I’m really excited and I know Rob Dickie’s agreed as well.

“He believes in the future and hopefully there will be one or two more bits of good news.

“We’re nowhere near where we want to be.

“I’m not going to sit here and think we’ve cracked it and everything in the garden is going to be rosy.

“It’s not but I’m really happy and excited.”

The former MK Dons boss left Charlton Athletic in March 2018 to join the U's, who held an exhaustive recruitment process to find Pep Clotet's successor.

He steered them away from relegation trouble in his first ten games to finish 16th in Sky Bet League One.

And despite a long battle against the drop last season, the U's rallied to end the campaign 12th.
