MATILDA Mutavdzic’s superb run in the girls’ singles at Wimbledon has come to an end in the third round.
The 15-year-old, who grew up in Abingdon, lost 6-4, 6-4 to tenth seed Alexa Noel.
Mutavdzic had beaten Sada Nahimana and Daria Frayman to progress at SW19, describing reaching the stage as the highlight of her career so far.
But Noel, who is two years the Oxfordshire player’s senior, took victory in a match which included ten breaks of serve.
Mutavdzic was also in doubles action today with fellow Briton Holly Fischer.
They beat Frayman and Darja Semenistaja 7-6, 6-4 in the first round.
