BANBURY Harriers siblings Shannon and Michael Dawes won medals at the Midlands Championships in Nuneaton.
Competing in the U20 javelin, Shannon overcame strong crosswinds to land gold with a throw of 35.75m.
She was thrilled to claim the title in difficult conditions.
“I’m absolutely delighted to have won,” said Shannon.
“Having won silver and bronze medals in past championships it makes all the hard work and training worthwhile to finally win gold.”
Despite just moving up to the senior age group, Michael Dawes claimed silver in the hammer with 44.68.
