JORDANNE Whiley helped Great Britain win bronze at the BNP Paribas World Team Cup in Israel.
Victories over China and France saw the team progress from the round-robin stages in the wheelchair tennis equivalent of the Fed Cup in Ramat Hasharon.
Although Whiley, from Steventon, beat Manami Tanaka 7-5, 6-0, Britain lost 2-1 to Japan in the last four.
They were still able to go home with a medal, though, after seeing off South Africa 2-0 in the play-off.
Whiley beat Mariska Venter 6-4, 6-1 before Lucy Shuker triumphed after opponent Kgothatso Montjaen retired in the third set.
The Oxfordshire player said: “I didn’t want to win the bronze the way we did, I was ready to play doubles if needed.
"I played some good tennis in the doubles, not so good in the singles.
"I’m pleased that we got the medal and have a lot to take home in terms of my tennis."
Whiley's partner Marc McCarroll also enjoyed a successful tournament as captain of the Britain's junior team.
They won silver, narrowly missing out on gold after Australia won a match tiebreak 14-12 in the deciding doubles rubber.
