OXFORDSHIRE produced two very different displays as their Unicorns T20 campaign got off to a mixed start.

A superb performance in the first match of their double-header against Herefordshire saw Oxon record a six-wicket win, securing victory off the final ball of the match.

But then they lost by eight runs in the second game.

Despite Peter Burgoyne’s unbeaten 97 in the first match, Oxfordshire edged past their hosts’ 157-3 thanks mainly to Jonny Cater’s 59 not out.

Burgoyne (72) helped Hereford set 141-7 in the second clash, but the visitors could only manage 133-9 in reply.

Oxon host Shropshire in two games at Magdalen College School today (11 & 2.30).
