CANICE Carroll has left Oxford United to join Brentford for an undisclosed fee.
The 19-year-old from Kidlington leaves United having made 25 appearances, scoring once.
Carroll, who has represented Ireland’s under 19 side, came through the U’s youth set-up, making his debut as a 16-year-old in a Johnstone’s Paint Trophy tie at Dagenham & Redbridge.
Carroll was highly-rated by boss Michael Appleton and played regularly under his successor, Pep Clotet, last season.
But he only featured once after the Spaniard’s sacking in January, in a 1-0 defeat at Wigan Athletic where boss Karl Robinson shuffled his starting line-up.
