BARTHOLOMEW School, Eynsham, were celebrating after winning the King Charles Cup in dramatic style.
Captain Jacob Muir’s try in the last play earned his side an 18-16 victory over Marlborough School, Woodstock.
Both teams will now represent Oxfordshire against the top schools from Nottinghamshire in October.
The event marked the return of the U14 boys competition for the first time in more than 20 years.
Hosted by Oxford Cavaliers at North Hinksey, it is the county’s only rugby league tournament for secondary schools.
Marlborough finished top of the league and reached the final with a 10-4 victory over D’Overbroeck’s College, Oxford.
In the other last-four tie, Billy Buchanan’s try proved the difference after Bartholomew and King Alfred’s Academy, Wantage, had played out a 10-10 draw.
