Oxford City boss Justin Merritt has spoken of his disappointment after striker Chris Hill told him he wanted to return to his old club Ardley United.
Although Hill, who joined the Court Place Farm outfit in the summer, came on as a substitute against Bracknell, he was unhappy he didn't get a starting berth in Saturday's line-up for their Division 1 South & West opener.
"Although we have not received any official approach, I think it's coming," said Merritt.
"I don't want to lose him. But if he wants to go, then he wants to go. I can't guarantee him a place.
"I only want people here that want to play for the club.
"What's annoying is that in our last pre-season game, when I was finalising the team, he was unavailable because he was at a wedding."
