Burton Albion have a major crisis in defence, with virtually every member of their squad who normally plays at centre back watching the game from the stands.
In addition to captain Darren Stride, youngster Ryan Austin and Tony James, a recent signing from Hereford, Albion will be without Aaron Webster after he was sent off for a professional foul in Tuesday's thrilling 4-3 win over York, and is now suspended for one match.
Striker Jon Shaw, who has fitted in at centre back for the last three games, will be joined by Mark Greaves, who drops back to the heart of defence from midfield.
Danny Holmes, who was on the bench in midweek, but came on and hit the last-minute winner against the Minstermen, is likely to step into midfield from the start tomorrow.
Burton boss Nigel Clough yesterday registered 18-year-old youth team graduate Sam Hall with the Conference so he can play.
Clough says he has no intention of puncturing the sense of euphoria around the Pirelli Stadium after the Brewers' remarkable midweek comeback with ten men.
