Oxford City are aiming to expand their involvement with the community after agreeing a new partnership with a leading sports education company.

The British Gas Business Southern League Division 1 South & West club have fixed up a three-year deal - worth a five-figure sum - with Premier Sports Group.

It reflects a joint strategy on sports coaching in Oxfordshire schools, colleges and businesses together with major facility improvements at Court Place Farm Stadium.

City chairman Brian Cox expressed his delight that the deal had been concluded.

"Premier Sports Group are renowned for their high quality service and customer focus," he said.

"We are really pleased to involve them as partners in our continued community expansion and look forward to working together on the key projects we have planned."

Premier Sports Group managing director Justin Merritt, who is City's player-manager, added: "My involvement has enabled me to realise the enormous community growth at the club in recent years and the focus on success.

"The potential is there to move on to another level and with this partnership in place the objectives of both Oxford City and Premier Sports Group can be achieved much earlier.

"There is a clear synergy in the vision and we believe the five-figure initial three-year investment represents good value commercially and for the local community."

City have around 20 teams of all ages, with plans for a 50 per cent growth in the next three years.

The Football Association supports the club's development plans and recently voted City as top FA Charter Standard Community Club in the county.

The club then went on to be awarded the 2007 South East Regional title by the FA.

City already work closely with local businesses and community groups and have a formal educational partnership with Buckinghamshire Chilterns University College.
