OXFORD Cavaliers maintained their 100 per cent start to the season with a stunning 36-24 comeback victory away to fellow unbeaten side Reading in the London League.
The visitors made a poor start to the Pool B game and trailed 24-8 at half-time, but superb second-half display saw them storm to victory.
Reading scored three converted tries to lead 18-0 after just 20 minutes.
Cavaliers did get on the scoresheet before the break with a brace of tries from the prolific Rees Goggs, while Reading added their fourth converted score.
Luke Manning got Oxford back into the game with a brilliant 60-metre run for a try at the start of the second half.
Then substitute hooker Doug Chirnside found a gap to dive over to the right of the posts.
Arron Lambourne converted both to cut the deficit to 24-20.
Josh Harwood’s unconverted try levelled the scores, before the dominant visitors raced to victory with further tries from Ollie Smith and Louis Richards, who converted both.
The result leaves them top of the table with three games left.
