OXFORDSHIRE completed their dismal Unicorns Counties T20 campaign with two more defeats against Berkshire at Falkland CC yesterday.
The visitors, fielding a young side, finished the competition with eight defeats out of eight to finish bottom of the Group 2 table.
In the first game of the double-header, a sparkling half-century from skipper Jonny Cater, who hit 52 from 35 balls, took Oxfordshire to 147-7 from their 20 overs.
Although losing an early wicket, Berkshire were led to victory by opener Chris Peploe (64), who shared stands of 73 with both Euan Woods and Richard Morris, as Berkshire got home by seven wickets with 16 balls to spare.
Also batting first in the second game, the visitors were bowled out for 110 in the final over.
Harvey Eltham top-scored with 23, while the last four wickets fell for one run.
Lawrence Brock gave Oxon hope by grabbing three quick victims at the start of the Berkshire reply.
But from 63-5, they did not lose another wicket as Morris saw them home in the 19th over with an unbeaten 51.
