Oxfordshire's women struggled to seventh place against some top-class competition at the senior Inter-Counties match at Portsmouth's Mountbatten Centre on Sunday.

They were hit by mass unavailability, and the majority of the team was made up from under 20s or veterans.

Despite this, there were some impressive individual performances.

The highest-placed athletes were both veterans, Kay Reynolds coming second in the 100m hurdles in 14.6secs and Gwyneth Hueter doing likewise in the 2,000m steeplechase, where she crossed the line in 8.48.8.

Other good performances came from Paula Woodland, who rana personal best of 26.6 in the 200m and a season's best of 1.06.1 in the 400m hurdles.

Amy Peacock equalled her personal best in the pole vault, clearing 2.40m.

Rookie Gina Lodowski took part in the 3km walk for the first time, finishing fifth in 18.52.9.
