Letcombe opened the Sport Italia Hellenic League Division 1 West season with an outstanding 2-0 win at promotion favourites Trowbridge.

Letcombe went ahead when Richard Claydon hit the post and the ball was scrambled for a corner from which Sean Webb drove the ball home.

Trowbridge were reduced to ten men when Shaun Percival was shown red before Adam Pendell added a second.

Headington Amateurs were well beaten by a fancied Wooton Bassett side who took the lead in the 16th minute with the ever dangerous Matt Bennett cutting inside from the right wing and finding the net.

The visitors made the game safe with five minutes left thanks to sub Denis King.

Oxford City Nomads had the lion's share of the game but couldn't capitalise.

Skipper Aaron Williams missed a great first- half chance and they were denied what looked a clear-cut penalty when Jetmir Kamberi was brought down in the corner of the box.

Saracens took the lead in the tenth minute but the visitors had a perfect answer straight from the kick off.

Chris Hunt was at the end of a five man move to slot home his first goal in five years.

Clanfield could have gone ahead but Sean McKeon's penalty was saved.

Thame United started their Division 1 East campaign with a well-deserved draw.

Adam Rhodes put Thame ahead with a well placed volley from eight yards in the 30th minute.

But it was a different story in the second-half and Wokingham equalised through Don Harris.

Sam Sherwood thought he had won it for the visitors, but Thame secured the draw when Dave Hocking scrambled the ball home in the final few seconds.
