DWIGHT Tiendalli is expected to return against Blackpool tomorrow in place of the suspended Ricardinho.
The Brazilian is starting a three-game ban in Sky Bet League One following his dismissal in Monday’s 3-1 victory against Milton Keynes Dons.
As the only specialist left back in the squad, it leaves a decision on which compromise is best to fill the void.
Canice Carroll, who has done well in recent games at right back, and left-footed midfielder Josh Ruffels are options.
But with both players already in the starting XI, Tiendalli is expected to be chosen because it involves less disruption.
United manager Pep Clotet said: “I’m watching a lot of how Blackpool will play.
“Canice has been good when he plays on the left and I will take that decision according to the situation with their wingers.
“But I’m very reluctant normally to move a player who is playing to try to cover the other one.
“Canice is playing at right back and Ricardinho is suspended, so what I think we need to do is sort out the left back.
“If I move Canice to the left then I’m touching two positions and I’m reluctant to do that, so the most probable thing is Dwight covers the left back.”
