MASONS’ duo Dave Rose and Alan Lowe are through to the second round of the Oxford & District League’s pairs competition after a thrilling 2-2 aggregate victory over Gladiators A’s Bob Pincombe and Keith Gardner, writes PETE EWINS.
Masons twice took the lead.
In the fourth leg, Pincombe and Keith Gardner (10,390) triumphed, but just fell short of an aggregate win losing the tie 15,130-14,980.
Vikings’ Allan Lacey and Bob Allsworth recorded an aggregate success over Democrats’ Billy Hill and John Patey, triumphing 13,870-7,930.
Also through are Oracle’s Mark Trafford and Kevin Godfrey who beat Mick Jones and Pete Ewins 3-0, Trafford scoring breaks of 9,590 and 9160.
Oracle’s Steven Sheard and Pauline Withey beat Sean Stratford and Jon-Joe Kelly 3-0, while Alan Oliver and Ian Moss defeated Demos’ pair of Bob Parsons and Eddie Tebby 3-0.
