TWO coaches from Bicester have made a splash on the other side of the Atlantic by winning medals in the United States.
David Plested and Natalie Nicholson scooped bronze in the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu World Masters, held in Las Vegas.
Plested, who is the head instructor at Bicester’s Roger Gracie Academy Jiu Jitsu club, and Nicholson, who runs the ladies’ only self defence class, both produced superb displays.
Plested finished third in a 16-man field, while Nicholson filled the same position in the eight-strong ladies category.
The duo’s success was a huge achievement for the small club, who train at St Edburgs Primary School.
The success gave everyone a lift when the pair called in to show off their medals to members, before Nicholson flew to Spain to prepare for the European Championships.
