MAX Mannering spun Cumnor to a convincing 126-run victory against visitors Banbury 2nd as he returned remarkable figures of 6-9 in Cherwell League Division 1 on Saturday.
Mannering’s haul sent Banbury tumbling to 89 all out as they replied to Cumnor’s total of 215 all out.
Alex Davies (55) and Matt Lake (51) had shone in Cumnor’s innings as they were all out in the 47th over, Richard Simpson taking 4-46 and Finn Brabham 3-52.
In reply, Banbury were never in the hunt as Mannering spun his web, taking six wickets in six accurate overs.
Tom Powell (2-1), Davies and Toby Strong also took wickets.

In the only other Division 1 game to be completed on another wet day, Twyford beat Dinton by 120 runs.
Shahbaz Alam struck 70 and Shahid Mahmood 59 as Twyford posted 263-9.
Dinton’s reply crumbled to 143 all out Atif Ali taking 6-25.

Abingdon Vale’s victory bid at Horspath 2nd was denied by the rain.
They had posted 255 all out, Max Owen hitting 52 and Amith Premkumar 50.
Horspath were already in trouble at 44-3 in the eighth over when rain forced the players off.

Rain also ended play early at Long Marston, where Aston Rowant 2nd had posted 155 all out.
The leaders were 60-2 in reply after 12 overs when the match was abandoned.

Oxford Downs were denied a chance of victory by the rain at Tiddington.
Batting first, Downs had set 234-7 in their 50 overs, Frankie Crouch hitting 76.
Harry Sutton claimed 3-24 in Tiddington’s reply as they slipped to 45-4 before the match was called off.
