ABINGDON dominated the Oxfordshire County Road Relays with victory in both the senior men’s and women’s races.
In the event at Abingdon Rugby Club, Lambrick Way, the hosts were also second in the boys’ and girls’ events.
The senior men’s team enjoyed a convincing victory, beating Headington Road Runners by more than two minutes.
Lying third after the first leg, Jack Shayler took Abingdon into a clear lead, before Paul Fernandez and Alex Wall-Clarke, who posted the fastest time, maintained the advantage.
Paul Hughes and Owen Stepney then finished the job.
Abingdon’s women’s B team triumphed, with Sarah Davey making a solid start.
Sarah Lackman helped the team move up to second, and Florence Wiggins set the fastest time to beat Radley.
There was victory for Radley in the boys’ race, though, with Ben Cumberland running the quickest leg of the day.
Headington (veteran men), Alchester (veteran ladies) and Oxford City (girls) also triumphed.
