OXFORDSHIRE’S Under 18 Shires League team took another big step towards their goal of reaching the national finals by beating Herefordshire 15-5 in their final league game.
Despite missing several key players, Oxfordshire were able to dominate the match from the outset with the girls once again leading the way by winning all eight of their matches.
This result saw them finish eighth in the league and they now face a play-off against ninth-place Avon for a place in the national finals at Stoke Mandeville.
Oxon Under 16s finished their Shires League season with a 15-5 loss at the hands of Sussex at Bartholomew School, Eynsham.
Safia Khimji won all four of her matches, with the rest of the team comprising Charlie Driver, Ethan Lau, Harry Needell, Sammi Procter, Khimji, Holly Craig, Maddy Cook and Rebecca Norkett.
Elsewhere, Albie Marriott and partner Ryan Baker (Warwickshire) won a bronze medal at the West Midlands Under 14 Bronze tournament at Bournville College, Birmingham.
