MARVIN Johnson has scored spectacular winners to get Oxford United to Wembley, but the winger admits a scrappy finish on Sunday would surpass his thunderbolts in the last two rounds.

The 26-year-old’s wonder goal took care of Bradford City in the quarter-finals and he again delivered a moment of quality to sink Luton Town in the last four.

Johnson also netted in the last-16 success against Scunthorpe United and has been dreaming of continuing his scoring run on the biggest stage.

He said: “I scored in the last three games, so I’ll be hoping to score again at Wembley.

“That would go down as one of my best goals regardless of how it goes in, just because of the occasion.”

The 85th-minute strike at Luton was one of the highlights of United’s season.

It rescued them after Michael Appleton’s side had let a two-goal lead slip and Johnson’s teammates were suitably appreciative.

He said: “We looked down and out at that point and it looked like it was going to penalties.

“So to score that late on it meant more than anything to me and all the boys thanked me afterwards in the dressing room. We knew we weren’t at our best, but we got there.”
