CAPTAIN Alfie Turner starred as Oxfordshire Under 12s recorded a third consecutive win.
Turner claimed a superb 5-13 to steer his side to victory in their friendly match against Hampshire at East & West Hendred.
The skipper kept himself back until the 29th over and then ripped through the lower order as the visitors were restricted to 134-9 off 40 overs.
In reply, a second-wicket partnership of 47 from Will Laird and Aidan Wilkinson proved vital for Oxfordshire in difficult batting conditions.
Wilkinson was then unluckily run out and a flurry of wickets meant the result was in the balance.
However, Harry Phillips hit an unbeaten 28 and Liam Turnbull scored a run-a-ball 20 as Oxon passed their target with seven overs to spare.
Oxfordshire Under 10s beat the weather in their friendly match at Devon, but were unable to get the better of their rivals.
Playing a Twenty20 match in order to try and ensure a result, Oxon posted 107-3 at Cullompton.
Their total was due primarily to a 92-run first-wicket stand between captain Jackson Andreae (34) and Dylan Driscoll, who hit a maiden county half-century.
Devon were always on top, and although some late wickets gave Oxon hope, the hosts won by six wickets in the 19th over.
The teams attempted another match, but with Oxon on 85-6, the heavens opened.
OXFORDSHIRE’S Under 13 girls fell to a 25-run defeat in their County Cup clash at Buckinghamshire.
The hosts were dismissed for 71 at Chiswick CC, helped by 32 extras.
Tess Slater (3-17), Clemmie Boyd (2-1) Isabel Mase (2-9) and Phoebe Maslen (2-10) were the pick of the bowlers.
Oxon never got going in reply and were dismissed for a disappointing 46.
Oxfordshire’s Under 15 girls were beaten by nine wickets in their ECB Women’s League Division 2 clash at home to Buckinghamshire.
The hosts were in trouble on 11-3 and 86-8, before Lauren Smith’s unbeaten 28 and Lucy Grain (19) helped them to a competitive 144 at Watlington CC.
However, Tilly Mason (59no) and Alice Wilson (51) comfortably led Bucks home.
